More than 400 high school students from across the country gathered at Young America’s Foundation’s Reagan Ranch this weekend for the Freedom at 250 Rally. Held in partnership with The Daily Wire the rally aimed at mobilizing young activists ahead of the nation’s 250th anniversary.
The rally brought students together for speeches, panels and discussions centered on the future of the Conservative Movement, civic engagement and the preservation of American founding principles.
The speaker lineup featured several prominent conservative figures, including radio host Larry Elder, political commentator Reagan Conrad, YAF President Gov. Scott Walker, economist Dr. Daniel Di Martino, The Hon. Jason Miyares and The Daily Wire’s Cabot Phillips.
Throughout the conference, speakers emphasized themes of patriotism, personal responsibility and the importance of defending constitutional government.
Elder focused his remarks on individual accountability, encouraging students to reject identity based ideology and embrace hard work and self-determination. He pointed to his father’s journey as an example, arguing that success is determined by perseverance and personal effort rather than race.
“I am not an African American. I am an American that is black,” Elder said.
Elder also criticized progressive leadership in California, saying liberal policies have contributed to economic decline, increased crime and population loss in the state.
Di Martino challenged attendees to engage openly with those around them about conservative ideas and culture, arguing that meaningful change begins with personal relationships and everyday conversations. The best way to make a change is to talk to those closest to you.
He urged students to have the courage to defend their beliefs, even when doing so may be unpopular among their peers.
Walker reinforced that message, telling students they are part of a growing movement of young conservatives across the country. He encouraged attendees to seek out like-minded peers and build strong communities rooted in shared values.
Walker said those relationships are essential in helping students remain steadfast in their convictions and effective in advancing conservative ideas on campus and beyond.
The Freedom at 250 Rally is part of YAF’s broader nationwide initiative leading up to the United States’ 250 year anniversary in 2026. YAF is hosting additional rallies at President Ronald Reagan’s Boyhood Home in Dixon, Illinois, as well as events at Mount Vernon and in Philadelphia.
