Radical leftists at Saint Louis University are organizing a protest against an upcoming lecture featuring Lt. Col. Allen West, according to a social media post by the Occupy SLU Coalition.
The Young America’s Foundation-sponsored event, scheduled for tomorrow evening, is titled, “Historical Perspective, Not Propaganda on the Israel-Hamas Conflict.”
The leftist coalition apparently believes that West’s traditional views are intolerable and must be stopped, writing that he “is staunchly anti-Muslim, xenophobic, gay-bashing, transphobic, denies women the right to bodily autonomy, and supports the oppressive police state of amerikkka [sic] that subjugates and stifles us.”
Ironically, the students are expressing these opinions while simultaneously supporting a Hamas-led government. Hamas is far from supportive of women, gay, and “transgender” people–women’s rights are virtually non-existent, and those who engage in homosexuality or “gender swapping” are either sent to prison or executed.
They go on to call the conservative students who invited West “dangerously miseducated individuals,” and called for the event to be canceled: “The Occupy SLU Coalition calls on SLU’s administration to stop Allen West from spreading ignorant hate speech at our university.”
Thankfully, even some on the Left are calling out the blatant antisemitism that their radical counterparts are perpetrating in response to West’s event.
“[I am] not even close to a Republican but who at Occupy SLU approved this poster?” one student wrote, taking particular issue with the inclusion of a photoshopped swastika lapel pin on West’s jacket.
This isn’t the first time Lt. Col. West has visited SLU’s campus. In 2016, students offended by his speaking out against radical Islamic terrorism participated in a walk-out protest and bake sale, and the university’s president issued a statement condemning the event. Subsequently, the university instituted a process requiring administrative approval of all guest speakers.
The free event will take place Tuesday evening in Busch Student Center Room 251 at 7:00 pm.
