As Young America’s Foundation prepares students to stand in solidarity with Israel on the solemn one-year anniversary of the October 7 Hamas attack that killed 1,139 people, including women and children, pro-Hamas students are brazenly attempting to interfere with YAF activists’ efforts.
The Young Americans for Freedom chapter at the University of Iowa is set to host Ian Haworth on the first anniversary of Hamas’ barbaric attack for a lecture on the Left’s lies about Israel–but advertisements for the event have been torn down and defaced by those who don’t want students to even have a chance to hear the truth.
On Monday, Iowa YAF and YAF National Chairwoman Jasmyn Jordan discovered that posters advertising the event that featured pictures of Israeli hostages abducted by the radical Islamist militant group had been torn down.
On Wednesday morning, she noticed that an advertisement on a student government activity chalkboard was also defaced, with someone having crossed out “Stand With Israel” in a clear effort to demonstrate that Israel-supporting and Jewish students are not welcome on campus.
“It’s appalling that after the innocent civilians of Israel have suffered such grave and brutal losses, ignorant students on our campus have decided to demean these losses in pursuit of pushing their false propaganda that continues to hurt Muslims, Christians, and people of all kinds in Israel,” Jasmyn told YAF’s New Guard.
Although the Left’s efforts to derail Ian Haworth’s upcoming event are frustrating, they will ultimately fail. Iowa YAF has overcome these hurdles in the past, and this time will be no different.
Ian Haworth’s YAF event at the University of Iowa is scheduled for October 7 at 7:00 PM in the Iowa Memorial Union North Room. This event is free and open to the public!
