Radical leftist organization Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) is now advocating for students to receive extra academic credit for engaging in pro-Hamas activities on college campuses. The group’s national leadership recently released a set of guidelines urging professors to reward students who participate in events promoting so-called “Palestine solidarity” and other anti-Israel causes.
SJP, which is known for its passionately anti-Semitic and anti-Israel stance and support for Hamas–an Iran-backed terrorist organization responsible for countless attacks on innocent civilians–is encouraging professors to “get creative” with their assignments. Instead of writing traditional papers, SJP suggests that students be allowed to cheer terrorists and demonize Israel, essentially turning leftist activism into graded coursework.
The group goes even further by proposing that independent study electives be created, allowing the pro-terror student organizers to receive academic credit for their actions. They also call on professors to offer support to students facing disciplinary charges, essentially advocating for immunity for those who engage in disruptive or even illegal activities in the name of Hamas and other terrorist groups seeking to eliminate Israel and murder civilians.
SJP was one of the primary organizers of last year’s campus encampments, which saw university administrators throughout the country cede control to the pro-Hamas leftists. Training sessions that Young America’s Foundation’s New Guard reviewed over the summer advised students that they must use “escalating tactics” against their school administration and law enforcement in order to get what they want, and that those planning for the return of encampments should be prepared to facilitate abortions for those who engage in sexual activity in their tents.
Alarmingly, much of this pro-Hamas campus chaos is funded by actors tied to the Iranian government, according to a recent Townhall investigation. Despite the Biden-Harris administration’s awareness of this frightening reality, nothing is being done to reign in the leading state sponsor of terrorism’s ever-growing influence on American college students.
