Next month, the University at Buffalo will host a virtual lecture that promotes the Left’s radical “prison abolition” agenda, according to a tip received through Young America’s Foundation’s Campus Bias Tip Line.
On Wednesday, September 18, Professor Andrea Pitts will deliver a lecture titled “Children, Agency, and Imagining Abolition: Chicanx and Black Feminisms Against the Prison Industrial Complex.” The event, hosted by the university’s Feminist Research Alliance Workshop, will promote the idea of abolishing prisons altogether—a concept that is not only dangerous, but also detached from reality.
Professor Pitts, a so-called “non-binary” activist who advocates for prison abolition, “transgender” visibility, and countless other leftist pet projects, is set to explore how children can become “agents of change” within the anti-prison movement.
While the event is being pitched as a “fertile space for idea-incubation,” it’s clear that the university is pushing a one-sided narrative that dismisses the simple reality that criminal justice is a necessity.
This event is yet another example of higher education’s drift towards leftist indoctrination, where ideas like prison abolition are taken seriously, while common-sense conservative ideas are increasingly marginalized.
In addition to promoting the Left’s extreme views, the University at Buffalo has also taken steps to silence and actively condemn conservative voices on campus.
Just last week, Young America’s Foundation discovered that the university’s Department of Media Study has permanently enshrined a statement on its homepage condemning YAF speaker and Daily Wire host Michael Knowles for simply believing that men cannot become women.
