YAF’s 2022 ‘Worst of the Worst’ Leftist Nonsense Award

Every year, Young America’s Foundation compiles a list of the most outrageous incidents reported by The New Guard. This year, we let YOU decide which of the twelve nominated stories should receive the notorious honor of being the “worst of the worst” leftist bias incident of 2022.

It was a tough decision, but our readers ultimately decided that this story was, by far, the most outrageous of them all:

Leftist City Councilwoman Holds Pool Party for ‘LGBTQ+’ Five Year-Olds

Over the summer, a city councilwoman in the small town of Nixa, Missouri, hosted a pool party for “LGBTQ+ five through eleven year olds.” Shortly after YAF exposed the wildly inappropriate situation, she announced her resignation.

This situation perfectly demonstrates the power of YAF’s Campus Bias Tip Line to make an impact on your campus or in your community. Under attack? YAF’s got your back.

(Keep scrolling to read about each of the twelve stories that were nominated and view the results of our bracket tournament!)

  • Our first showdown features two midwestern state schools:
    1. In November, Ben Shapiro visited the University of Michigan to deliver a YAF-sponsored lecture, “Exposing the Great Reset.” Everyone had a great time, except for a leftist protestor dressed up as a clown who ended up in a pair of handcuffs after attempting to sneak frozen condoms into the venue and vandalizing a restroom wall. As of this writing, the clown is out on bond and has a court date scheduled for February.
    2. Every year, on the anniversary of Che Guevara’s death, YAF chapters across the country work to raise awareness amongst their peers of who the ruthless communist revolutionary truly was (contrary to the narrative put forth by the Left, which frequently paints him as a hero). The UIC YAF chapter’s display was immediately shut down by an administrator who has an extensive history of anti-conservative discrimination.

  • In addition to college campus craziness, we frequently work with students and their parents to expose incidents that affect young people in K-12 schools and in their communities:
    1. Over the summer, a city councilwoman in the small town of Nixa, Missouri, hosted a pool party for “LGBTQ+ five through eleven year olds.” Shortly after YAF exposed the wildly inappropriate situation, she announced her resignation.
    2. The Bellingham Public Schools Foundation distributed a $2,000 grant to students at one of the district’s middle schools to help the students put on a drag show. YAF was the first to break this story; it went on to receive coverage by major news outlets, including Fox News, The Daily Caller, and Newsmax, among others.

      • Next up, a battle for (a lack of) patriotism:
      1. After noticing increased levels of anti-American sentiment on campus, conservative students at Saint Louis University put forth a proposal to install American flags in every classroom with the assistance of Young America’s Foundation. Administrators and student government officers swiftly denied the proposal, claiming that there was no “necessary motive” to install American flags on campus.
      2. Over the summer, George Washington University announced plans to send its century-old mascot, “Colonial George,” into retirement. The move comes in response to leftist complaints that the moniker and mascot are rooted in racism.

      • Only one of these incidents was actually racist:
      1. Northern Illinois University professor Jahred Adelman warned students at the beginning of the fall semester that failure to wear a mask is “racism” and would result in immediate removal from class. After YAF exposed his nonsense, the story was also featured by Fox News. The student who reported the situation through YAF’s Campus Bias Tip Line later told YAF that he thinks the sudden influx of criticism led the professor to back off.
      2. Gettysburg College’s Gender and Sexuality Resource Center was slated to host a blatantly racist painting event. “Tired of white cis men?” flyers posted around campus read. “Come paint & write about it,” they continued. Following public backlash as a result of an article published in the New Guard, the event was canceled.

      • Nowadays, college administrators go out of their way to support and promote the Left’s radical gender and sexuality agendas:
      1. The University of Illinois – Urbana Champaign hired “transgender” students to journal about their “toileting experiences.” Shortly after YAF reached out to the school for comment, the project’s recruitment page was taken down.
      2. In the days leading up to Ben Shapiro’s YAF-sponsored campus lecture at the University of North Carolina-Greensboro, leftist administrators announced plans to host a “queer celebration” right outside of the lecture hall. Unfortunately for them, student turnout for their counter-event dwarfed in comparison to the crowd that attended the YAF event.

  • Isn’t college supposed to be about higher learning? Seems like they’re much more concerned with facilitating leftist nonsense:
      1. The University of Vermont recently hosted a game of “Sex Toy Bingo,” whatever that may be. A university spokesman confirmed to YAF that the supplies for the event were purchased using student activity fee funds, but declined to reveal exactly how much was spent. Fox News and the New York Post also reported on this YAF-broken story.
      2. The University of Florida opened a segregated dormitory building for LGBTQ+ students. Pitched as a “gender-inclusive” community, the building frequently hosts ridiculous events that advance the Left’s agenda, including “Beyond the Binary Brunch,” “Trans Taco Tuesdays,” and an LGBTQ+ advocacy chalking day.
