Jaryn Crouson serves as the program officer for outreach for YAF’s National Journalism Center (NJC), helping to attract young conservatives to NJC’s dynamic internship program and equip future journalists with the skills of aggressive, honest reporting.
Prior to this role, she served as the Daily Caller News Foundation’s sole education reporter, where she interviewed Secretary of Education Linda McMahon and closely followed the biggest stories in education during President Donald Trump’s second term. She is passionate about uncovering schools’ attempts to indoctrinate students in racial and gender ideology, finding the root cause of America’s literacy decline, defending parents’ right to direct their children’s education and upbringing, and understanding the effects of technology and artificial intelligence on children’s development.
Jaryn got her start in journalism by writing for YAF’s New Guard while attending Michigan State University, where she studied political theory and constitutional democracy. During that time, she published stories exposing university-sponsored events such as sex toy bingo and a push to bring abortion to campus. She also ran MSU’s YAF chapter for two years and later served as a William & Berniece Grewcock Scholar at YAF’s National Headquarters.
In her free time, Jaryn enjoys hiking with her fiancé and dog, relaxing at scenic wineries, and perfecting new recipes. She is originally from the Pacific Northwest.
