Dr. Arthur Laffer, renowned Ronald Reagan economist, and Dr. Emmanuel Saez, distinguished Professor of Economics at the University of California, Berkeley—two of today’s most influential economic thinkers in the world—will participate in a high-stakes debate at UC Berkeley. This event will take place in the Jarvis Auditorium in the Grimes Engineering Center, and is hosted by the Berkeley Political Union and sponsored by Young America’s Foundation’s Center for Entrepreneurship & Free Enterprise and the James M. and Cathleen D. Stone Center on Wealth and Income Inequality.
Dr. Laffer and Dr. Saez will debate California’s proposed wealth tax on billionaires—a one-time 5% tax on the net worth of California’s billionaire residents—a major initiative that will impact not just Californians, but also Americans across the country.
