When Congress passed the Mandatory Repatriation Act classifying nonrealized earnings as income and taxing it accordingly, YAF joined an amicus brief to argue this violated the Sixteenth Amendment. Forcing Americans to pay taxes on shares they still hold is an unconstitutional wealth tax.
