In retaliation for YAF’s Matt Walsh event at New Mexico State University in the spring, a leftists state lawmaker called for unconstitutional restraints on student speech – and the school invited the YAF chapter to participate in the public meeting. Given the lack of good faith in the meeting’s purpose, YAF suspected the lawmaker would use her authority to bully the students and advised them of their right to say no. In the end, YAF, the students, and the school came to the same conclusion that this lawmaker did not deserve such a pulpit.
